ICDL is pleased to announce its 15th Annual Conference. Since the first conference in 1997, featuring
Dr. Greenspan and Dr. Lovaas, ICDL has facilitated dialog among renowned researchers, clinicians and educators working with children with special needs, sharing this opportunity with thousands of professionals and parents. This year, the ICDL Annual Conference has again an exciting program and outstanding speakers, including Stuart Shanker, D.Phil., Ami Klin, Ph.D, Jim Stieben, Ph.D., Rick Solomon, MD, MPH, Jose Cordero, MD, MPH, Joy Osofsky, Ph.D., Rebecca Shahmoon-Shanok, Ph.D., Barbara Kalmanson, PhD., Gerard Costa, Ph.D., Charles Cartwright, MD, Josh Feder, MD, Rosemary White, OTR, Ira Glovinsky, PhD., Connie Lillas, PhD., Devin Casenhiser, Ph..D., Molly R. The featured panels will discuss cutting edge research in Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as how to promote social emotional capacities in infants and children through community-based programs, and how to use different perspectives to manage stress and traumatic experiences that children with special needs face as they grow. The Conference will also include numerous practical sessions offered by a variety of DIR/Floortime faculty on a range of topics that address how they apply the DIR/floortime model to mental health and developmental challenges faced by children and adolescents. In a special evening panel on Saturday November 12, 2011, DIR/Floortime parents will share their experiences of growing up with their children.
